Following earlier reports onsub 4 meter SUVsales and sales across the 4.2- 4.4m SUV segments, we now assess sales in the mid-size segment. Here as well, there has been strong YoY growth while MoM sales declined sharply. Mahindra had three of its models in the top 5 list to command a total share of 77%, while there were 2 from Tata Motors.
SUV Sales (4.4m-4.7m) Nov 2025
With total sales of 30,200 units last month, the segment as a whole has seen a 6.59% year-on-year growth when compared to 28,332 units sold in Nov 2024. Month-on-month sales however, declined by 23.42% from 39,435 units sold during the peak of the festivities inOct 2025.
Breaking down these sales further, we find that it was the Mahindra Scorpio/N and XUV700 that held on to the top 2 positions. Scorpio sales went up by 22.92% YoY to 15,616 units from 12,704 units while it suffered a 12.66% MoM decline. XUV700 sales fell to 6,176 units, relating to a 32.13% YoY and 39.09% MoM de-growth.
Tata Harrier and Safari saw strong YoY demand at 3,771 units and 1,895 units respectively. It was particularly noteworthy for the Harrier which has seen an astronomical 174.45% YoY growth even as both models suffered a MoM decline.
Mahindra XEV 9e, built on Mahindras INGLO born-EV platform, accounted for 1,423 unit sales last month with a 4.71% market share. There had been significantly more demand in Oct 2025 when 2,708 units had been sold and market share had stood at 6.87%.
Hyundai Alcazar, MG Hector, Jeep Compass
It was double digit YoY de-growth for Hyundai Alcazar (840 units), MG Hector (278 units) and Jeep Compass (157 units). However, it was the Hector/Plus that showed off strong MoM demand which increased by 23.56% from 225 units sold in Oct 2025.
VW Tiguan had 38 unit sales in the past month, recording a sharp 51.90% YoY decline while MoM sales were up by 15.15%. There was the Hyundai Tucson that saw its sales dip to just 6 units marking a 92.86% YoY and 76.92% MoM de-growth while Citroen C5 Aircross sales were down to 0 units even as there had been 2 units sold in Oct 2025.
