Cam Skattebo wins Week 1 Angry Runs

While running back Cam Skattebo only played eight offensive snaps against the Commanders in Week 1, he certainly made sure his presence was felt.

On his very first snap, the rookie running back made a big block in pass protection as Commanders safety Tyler Owens attempted to rush Russell Wilson. The blitz pickup helped Wilson have time to connect with Malik Nabers for a 25-yard gain.

One snap later, Skattebo lined up out wide and caught a short pass from Russell Wilson. The 23-year-old proceeded to run over cornerback Trey Amos and All-Pro linebacker Frankie Luvu on his way to a six-yard gain.

'Good Morning Football' host Kyle Brandt brought back his popular 'Angry Runs' segment, where he named Skattebo the Week 1 winner.

"Cam Skattebo, the rookie running back, the prince who was promised, has shown up not in his first game. Nay, in his very first touch and won his very first scepter..." Brandt said on Tuesday's show. "The scepter is going to Skattebo. My only question is, is he going to win 17 of these things?"

Skattebo was one of the most exciting players in all of college football last year.

He averaged 5.8 yards per rush while totaling 1,711 yards on the ground to go with 21 touchdowns at Arizona State. He also caught 45 passes for 605 yards and three additional touchdowns.

Skattebo finished second in the country behind Ashton Jeanty in missed tackles forced on runs with 102, according to Pro Football Focus.

The talented running back set school records with his rushing yards and total yards from scrimmage (2,316) while finishing second in the nation in both categories, again trailing only Jeanty.
