Top 25 roundup: Arizona blows past No. 4 Michigan

Christian Koloko scored a career-high 22 points, Bennedict Mathurin added 16 and Arizona earned an early signature victory under new coach Tommy Lloyd by routing No. 4 Michigan 80-62 in the championship game of the Roman Main Event in Las Vegas on Sunday night.

The Wildcats (5-0) showed a fast, aggressive style that led to nine dunks, including four by Koloko, a junior who also grabbed seven rebounds and blocked four shots while outplaying Michigan preseason All-American center Hunter Dickinson.

While Arizona made its case to be in Monday's new rankings, Michigan (3-2) committed 15 turnovers and shot 1 of 14 from 3-point range in losing its second game in six days. The Wolverines fell at home to Seton Hall on Tuesday.

Eli Brooks had a team-high 14 points for Michigan. Dickinson had 11 points and seven rebounds.

No. 6 Purdue 80, No. 5 Villanova 74

Zach Edey scored 21 points to lift the Boilermakers over the Wildcats to capture the Hall of Fame Tip-Off Classic championship in Uncasville, Conn.

Caleb Furst and Isaiah Thompson each had 12 points and Jaden Ivey added 10 points, seven rebounds and seven assists for the Boilermakers (5-0). Sasha Stefanovic also had 10 points in the win.

Justin Moore led Villanova (3-2) with 19 points, while Caleb Daniels added 17 and Collin Gillespie had 14. Jermaine Samuels and Brandon Slater also contributed 10 apiece.

No. 17 Tennessee 89, No. 18 North Carolina 72

Zakai Zeigler scored 18 points in a reserve role as the Volunteers beat the Tar Heels in the Basketball Hall of Fame Tip-Off's consolation game at Uncasville, Conn.

Santiago Vescovi added 17 points, Kennedy Chandler 14 and John Fulkerson 13 as the Volunteers (3-1) recovered from a loss to Villanova from a day earlier. It was Tennessee's first victory against North Carolina since 1949.

Brady Manek came off the bench to lead North Carolina (3-2) with 24 points. Armando Bacot added 16 points and 12 rebounds, RJ Davis supplied 14 points and Caleb Love had 12.

No. 22 St. Bonaventure 70, Marquette 54

Jaren Holmes had 19 points and 13 rebounds and the Bonnies turned in a dominant defensive performance against the Golden Eagles in the championship game of the Shriners Children's Charleston Classic in Charleston, S.C.

Osun Osunniyi had 16 points, 11 rebounds and four blocked shots, Jalen Adaway scored 14 points and Kyle Lofton added 12 for St. Bonaventure.

Lewis had 17 points and 11 rebounds for Marquette. It was his third double-double of the season.
